ASK THE BMXPerts: NEW BIKE FOR A NEW RIDER
Bookmark and Share

Q: Dear BMXperts, I’m 12 Years old, and I have only been riding for about a year now so I’m pretty new in the BMX world. I’m looking for a new bike of any sort, as long as its quick, light and strong, but Í don’t know what BMX to choose because there are so many good bikes out there. I’m confused, please help BMXperts!

A: Without knowing what type of riding you plan to be doing, our best advice to you would be to swing by your local shop and just start test riding bikes. Get a short list of bikes that fit the style of riding you want to do and your budget, take a day and go home and do as much research on the bikes as you can. Compare their parts, prices and geometry. Do your best to understand the differences and you can always use BMX Plus! as a reference. Even if you don’t see the test of the bike you want in the magazine, you can still compare what we had to say about bikes with similar parts or geometries and hopefully narrow your field of options down to one lucky ride. Hope that helps Tom and if you want, hit us back with your budget and riding style and we will get way more specific with you.
