Hi, I am 14 years old and I have been BMXing for five years. My problem is that my hopping hasn’t gotten any higher. Can you help me?
ANS- It’s all about form Robin and chances are, you aint got it. Learning to bunnyhop is only half the battle because believe it or not, everyone learns to do it wrong. No one rolls back onto the back wheel, jumps and pushes out into the perfect tuck their very first time. Our guess is you looked like you were trying to yank a horse off the ground while you were in the saddle, just like everyone else. Hey, both tires off the ground and mission accomplished, right? Wrong, if you settle for that, you will always be stuck with the bare minimum, but if you use this as a stepping stone to better your form and skill, you should be able to finesse that bike off the ground like it was part of your own body. Work on rolling back onto the rear wheel smoothly and when your front wheel peaks out, rolling your arms forward and tucking the bike up as high as possible. Practice bunnyhopping up or over things as well, this is the best way to push your skills. Practice your form and you will see some changes my friend.
