Hey BMX Plus!, Kayleb here and I love your mag. I recently started saving up for a Subrosa Salvador. I ride dirt but am kind of new to park and street riding. I was wondering, what are ten tricks that I should start out with? I can J-hop and catwalk now and am working on no-footers. Thanks, love the mag, I read it cover to cover every month.
Kayleb, the best thing you can learn for park and street is perfecting your bunnyhops. If you can hop 6” now, work on 10” and when you get 10”, work on 15”. Everything in park and street is based off the bunnyhop so learn it and live by it. While you are working on hops, also work on spinning 180’s and 360’s, rolling fakie, manuals and nose bonks. Footjam tricks are fun to learn and apply everywhere from banks to quarters and if you have pegs, learn to peg stall on ramps. Though not “tricks” work on dropping off of taller ledges or stair sets to perfect smooth landings and start gapping over things, starting with a simple curb cut and work your way up to islands in parking lots, to small cars and eventually busses. Hope this gives you some direction Kayleb.
