SHORTY SEEKING SHORTY

Dear BMXperts,
Hey, I’m a fully-grown, short rider at only 5-foot. I find a 20” top tube length too big for me, but I can’t find anywhere that does anything smaller than that, unless it’s a kid’s bike. In which case it weighs a ton. I’m looking for a lightweight BMX with a frame suitable for my height. Any advice?

DHERS FAN

Dear BMXperts,
Hey, I’m Danny and I just started Riding. I am Riding A Redline Romp. I’m still learning to do some tricks. I’ve learned how to bunny hop that’s about it. All I need to do is keep practicing. Plus love the mag I just started reading it 2 weeks ago at my school. My school just started getting them in May. My Favorite Rider is Daniel Dhers. I don’t know why I like him, he is just so awesome. Daniel, keep doing what your doing.
Danny

WHAT’S A SAPIENT?

Dear BMXperts,
I’m just getting into BMX and I learned how to pro hop on my friends DK. Anyway, I am trying to save a few bucks I searched Craigslist for a bike at a great price and found a Sapient Mx1 for $80. I thought it would be a good price so I could still afford to customize and upgrade it. Was it a good choice? Thanks guys!

OH, IT’S CRAPPY

Dear BMXperts,
Hey, my name is Joseph and I want to learn how to BMX. I have a Mongoose Outer limit with two sets of pegs on it, brake pads on both wheels and a kickstand on it. My friends say that it is a crappy bike and I do too. If you think it is crappy, and be honest, tell me what kind of bike I should get for a beginner. If you don’t, then tell me what modifications I should make. Also, I need to know how to start to BMX, like where to start or what trick I should begin with. Keep up the good work with the magazines, and e-mail me back.  Bye!

BIKES BY THE ENGLISH POUND

HI,
My son has just turned 10 and he wants a new BMX bike. He currently has the Mongoose Micron, but he wants a better one. He has about £200-£250 to spend. What do you recommend?
Thanks

HALF LINK FOR A 25/9F

“Hey guys, How are you? I bought a new half-link chain for my BMX and the back sprocket keeps jumping teeth. Do I need a smaller, or larger rear sprocket? What should I do?”

BIKE FOR 6’6” RIDER

I need help on finding a bike and I don’t know what I need. I’m a big guy about 6 foot 6 and I don’t know if I should get a bike with a 21 inch top tube or bigger. I have ridden bikes before and I like pretty much all styles of riding street, vert, you name it I’ll do it. I was wondering if there was a certain type of bike good for this. I don’t want to spend a whole bunch of money on this id like to keep it under $400. Any help you could give me would be great thanks.

SPOKE LENGTH

What’s up, my name is Josh I’m 18, and I need help. I have a Eastern Birectional wheel and I just bought a Primo Mix hub, but one side of the Eastern Birectional hub is smaller, so what size spokes do I need in order to install my new Primo Mix Hub on the stock rim that came with the Birectional hub?

Josh

OLDSCHOOL FOR NEWSCHOOL

Dear BMXperts, My name is Bill I am 40 years old and used to ride freestyle back in the 70’s and 80’s. I have a 12-year son who wishes me to ride with him now; you know a father and son thing. My question is I’m 5’9 and 148 lbs, what size bike you suggest for flatland for me? Thanks!  Bill Graham.

LOSING THE BEARING RACE

Love the mag keep up the good work I recently had a bearing race break on my front rim and was wondering if you might have an extra laying around?

BENT FORKS

I bent my forks on my stolen riot this weekend and I am wondering what would be the best route for me to take. I think it has a standard headset and all the forks I have looked at say they are for integrated headsets only. If you could let me know what to do that would be great.

DOUBLE PEG GRINDS

Hi, my name is Chris Chan. I am 13 years of age. Over in Michigan, winter is done and spring is just settling in. I have managed to get some street sessions in with my bros, but one thing I just can’t get is a double peg grind. I am pretty sure it’s like a bunny hop (Front wheel up, then fallow up with the back end) but I’m not sure and I knew you were the guys to go to in a situation like this. Keep it up,
Chris Chan Miller.
