PUSHING OUR SKILLS AS A GROUP

Hi, my name is Bryce and some friends and I have a group called, “We The BMXers.” We were wondering if you guys could think of any tricks we could do. Thanks for the help. Keep up the good work.

Sup guys, I’m 13 and I’ve been riding for 7 months now, I cant 180, I can get the spin and the hop but I cant land without falling over. Every time I try I bend my rims. Can you give me some advice on how to land it with out falling?
Thanks,

THINK LIKE MERKLE

Dear BMXperts,
I am an OK rider but don’t know a lot of tricks and my parents don’t let me ride far from the house so I can’t go to the park or the jumps without my parents with me. What can I do to get better, because I never will like this?

GIRLS IN BMX

Dear BMXperts,
I just picked up your magazine because I’m getting into BMX. I know practically nothing about it because I am converting from skating. Actually I am a girl skater with a cross-country scholarship that can’t afford another sprained ankle; broken wrists are a little easier to deal with. So I went out and got a bike off of craigslist. I should have done more research first because I am stuck with a real crappy GT bike now and no money to play with. I will use this for now but really, where do I start? Like what tricks, and how welcoming are bikers to newbies…especially girls? When I started skating I had to go super early in the morning when it was freezing to avoid being kicked out of parks.

AFFORDABLE SEALED HUBS

Dear BMXperts,
Hi, my name is Zach and I am 11 years old and have just started really getting into BMX. I am currently riding a Giant method 02 and am having a blast. I have a question, I need a pair of hubs that are sealed and fairly reasonable in pricing and was wondering if you could help me out with giving a recommendation on which ones to get. Oh ya, I was looking in your October issue at your 2011 bike sneak peek and realized that you put a picture of Kink Doyle for a Premium Broadway bike and was wondering if that was a mess-up? Keep up the good work on the awesome mag.

NANO GEAR ON NON-NANO ARMS

Hey BMX Plus!,
I just recently got an 8t back wheel and now I’m about to get a new sprocket probably a 22t or 23t and I’m not sure if the sprocket will fit my cranks because I don’t have “nano” drive cranks, do I need to have nano drive cranks for the cranks to be able to work with a 23t or 22t sprocket?
Thanks,
Tyler Buell

RACE TIRE TREADS

Why do so many riders use tires like the Intense MK’s that look bald? Dont they want traction in the dirt?

CHROMOLY VS CARBON

Dear BMXperts,
Hey, I live in Belgium, Europe. Thanks for your mag. I have read since 1982 because it’s the only one to give us news of every disciplines of BMX.
I’ve noticed on the picture from pages 62 & 63 of the November issue that there are four cromo forks vs two carbon. It’s nice to see that the pros are back to basics with reliable 4130 forks.
Best regards from Europe.

PS : I’m a French speaker so please, forgive me for mistakes ;o)

SEALED IN PLACE OF UNSEALED

Dear BMXperts,
I’m wondering if you can put sealed bottom bracket bearings in an unsealed frame?
Thanks Aaron

BIKE LOCK OR NEW BIKE

Dear BMXperts,
My name is Matt, I have a RL 1.1 and I think is the coolest bike ever!! The thing is I am now in middle school and have to ride to school or walk. And who wants to walk, BUT my lock is not amazing. The thing is, I have a lot of money but I don’t really want to spend it on a lock. I am thinking about getting a Mongoose but what style? And remember I am in middle school so I don’t want some little kids bike or something like that. Thanks for your help.
Matt Out.

RIGHT TO LEFT SIDE DRIVE

Hey BMXperts, My name is Sky and I am 13. I was wondering, if I ride right foot forward and my grind side is on the right of the bike, then should I switch my sprocket and freewheel to the left side of my bike? Would switching my drive train to the left side of my bike feel weird?

Under $600 and under 41Lbs

Dear BMXperts,

My name is Nathan, I am 12 years old and I live in a small town in Texas called Aledo. I have always loved riding my bike around doing some tricks up and down the street. I got a bike not to long ago for my birthday, it was a Mongoose K.O. It is really a great bike but is extremely heavy (41 pounds). I have tried to do cool tricks off my ramps but its so heavy it’s hard to get enough air to do anything. I have been looking for a bike that’s lightweight, tough, and awesome but I don’t really know what’s best. I have looked at some Haro, Fit Bike Co., and DK bikes but I have no clue what bike/brand is the best. My price range is under $600. I hope you could give me some ideas of bikes that would be the best. Thanks. P.S. I absolutely love the mag!

BRAKELESS VS CALIPERS

Dear BMXperts,
I ride brakeless because my frame can only take caliper brakes but I’m so use to riding brakeless, that I’ll forget that I have brakes and probably break a toe or something. So I’m wondering if I should get caliper brakes or not.
Thanks, Aaron

TRICKS ARE FOR GIRLS

Hi my names Amanda, I am 14 and I own a Kink Launch. I started riding about 2 months ago and have gone to a skatepark once. I can bunnyhop, fakie occasionally, hop down a 3 stair (Woo-hoo right?), and jump the intermediate jumps at our park. I was wondering what tricks I should
start out with on the jumps? I am not scared to fall.
