If the Race of Champions is a sign of things to come…

The Race of Champions is in the books for 2012 and while it may not carry weight in the Pro series, it is always interesting to see how the riders are tackling the track and who is in it to win it.

For the A Pro riders it was Jeremy Rommel who took the lead and ran with it, same as last year. With this win under his belt, Jeremy hopes he will edge into the lead spot for Rookie Pro of the Year in USA BMX.

In Vet Pro the three way race between Becerine, Colombo and Pohlkamp continues, as Javier lead all through Motos and qualifying, but Becerine came back to win in the main, so its still any riders game.

In Women’s Pro it was good to see Alise Post back on top, taking her first ROC win since 2009, but Caroline Buchanan and Dominique Daniels were hot on her heals and that is where the title race will ultimately be decided.

And finally with the AA Pro’s, Connor Fields, Sam Willoughby and Marc Willers were all flying in qualifying but when the gate dropped on the main, Connor Fields jumped out to an early lead, but just as fast as he took it, it was taken back by Willers who made a wild outside to inside move into the first turn, sliding into first and holding it to the line. As you can see by Marc’s face, the move even took him by surprise.

We are excited to see what tomorrow holds, so be sure to tune in to usabmx.com and watch live.
