TIME TRIAL QUALIFIERS AND SUPERFINAL RESULTS
In what was an adrenaline fuelled afternoon of racing at Manchester’s National Cycling Centre, the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup Time Trials got the weekend underway with 198 riders taking to the track from 29 different countries.
Despite the fierce competition on show, the following riders beat off their rivals to qualify for tomorrow’s final rounds, with a strong display from the GB Cycling BMX team.
Women’s Elite Finals (Top 5 of 32 qualifiers)

Amongst those that didn’t qualify were GB’s Grant Hill who crashed out on the third straight in his run and Women’s World Champion and race favourite Magalie Pottier who failed to make the starting ramp having wiped out in practice.
After the morning’s qualifier, which determined who will race in tomorrow’s Supercross finals, the top eight women and top sixteen men raced again in the evening’s Super time-trial final
Shanaze Reade continued her success into the evening, coming top of the leader board in the Superfinals in 32.351 seconds. Taking second place was USA rider Alise Post with 33.212 and in third position Merle Van Benthem from the Netherlands with 33.279.
In the men’s Superfinal GB’s Liam Phillips took the top spot with 29.357 followed by Tory Nyhaug of Canada in 29.389 and Connor Fields of the USA in third position with 29.596.

Tomorrow will see all qualifying Elite male and female riders take to the track once more from 19:00 to battle it out for the lead before the next three rounds of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup visit Argentina, The Netherlands and the USA.
