Chad Kerley bags gold after a heated battle with Reynolds for the top spot.

With some of the top street riders in the world out to partake in LA’s final X Games event before moving to Austin, TX in 2014, the action was off the hook. During practice, cooler temperatures made things a little easier on the riders, but when the sun came out for finals and the heat kicked up, it added another level of difficulty to riding. All of the riders were riding very well but having a hard time pulling together the runs they had all been nailing during practice for finals. Then, when the pressure was on, Chad Kerley nailed his dream line, including a nose wheelie to bar on the big ledge and double bar fakie on the sculpture/quarter. Garrett was also at his best under pressure with tricks like a huge 360 bar on the sculpture/quarter and a 360 smith to nose wheelie bar on the flat ledge. The two rode so well in the final round they stretched out a lead all their own for the top two spots. Jeremiah Smith locked in Bronze after some amazing lines and combos but a few falls on a bar feeble to 180 downside whip left him off the back. Amazing lines and links all around though, a worthy farewell to LA.
