Connor Fields and Felicia Stancil take Super Final wins at the UCI SX Finals
Wading through a field of the worlds fastest riders. both Felicia and Connor had strong showings during time trials and returned to score big wins at the evenings Super Finals. Fighting strong winds and some of the tracks fastest track times ever, both riders were faced with tense races. Connor was one of the last riders to go in Elite Men and had to clock one of his fastest track times ever. If that weren’t enough, Corben Sharrah, holder of the fastest track time ever recorded on the London replica track, would be running after him. Fields managed to use his nervousness and channel it into the energy necessary to spin the days fastest lap time and take the win, while pocketing 50 much needed points. Felicia on the other hand ran early during the Super Finals and had to sit in the hot seat and watch all of the worlds fastest riders try and stomp her time. Rider after rider they came up short, sometimes by hundredths of a second, but her time stood as she continues her march towards a spot on the Olympic team.
