NEWS: BAD THINGS COME IN THREES
Bookmark and Share

Gary Laurent assumes the unfortunate status of #3 on the Las Vegas injury
list with a broken back.

It is long known that bad things in BMX tend to travel in threes. Don’t ask us why, we didn’t make the rules, we just learned to respect them. Its like saying “one more time,” “Hey, watch this” or, “that looks easy”, all sure fire ways to make sure you crash and people are watching. Unfortunately for Gary Laurent, a name both oldschool and newschool riders will recognize, as he is still a very avid rider, it was nothing he said, just that someone had to fill the third injury spot and it was his time. We wouldn’t say it was no doing of his own as he did decide to 360 a set of triples at his local race track, not the best jumps for style we hear, and got tangled up. Gary, in typical form is in very high spirits, took our call from the hospital and cant wait to get back on his bike, that is after he spends a few months in a back brace and he gets the thumbs up from his surgeon to give the thumbs up as he also managed to rip his thumb “nearly clean off”. Hopefully this puts a cap on the Vegas injury list and the words of positive recovery come as quickly and confidently as Gary’s.
