Tour Announces Schedule and Cities; Kicks Off in Ocean City, Md. July 21-24

Burr Ridge, Ill. – March 24, 2011 – The Dew Tour announced today the 2011 dates and locations, as well as enhancements for the upcoming tour. New for 2011, the Dew Tour welcomes BMX legend TJ Lavin as a contributor to the overall BMX program, including dirt course designs.

The 2011 Dew Tour will kick off in Ocean City, Md., the tour’s first beach front event. The circuit will continue on to Portland, Ore. in August, Salt Lake City in September, and return to Las Vegas, Nev. for the Dew Tour Championships and year-ends awards ceremony in October.

“I’m really looking forward to being more involved in the Dew Tour this year. It’s a great opportunity to have a hand in designing courses that will push the riders to the next level,” said Lavin. “BMX and action sports in general always benefit from events like the Dew Tour and having athletes so heavily involved - especially building something as important as the courses.”

The full Dew Tour schedule features multi-sport events at each of the four stops, including BMX dirt, park, and vert, as well as skateboarding street and vert. Over the course of the Tour, athletes will compete to accumulate points based on their individual event finishes, each vying for the most overall points and the title of Dew Cup champion. Raising the stakes this year, the prize purse has increased per event along with the year-end bonuses.
