NEWS: ALISE POST OWNS THE ABA/USAC CHULA VISTA WEEKEND
Bookmark and Share

With the USAC National Championships moving to Chula Vista to join the ABA’s So. Cal. Nats, the action was sure to heat up. The USAC race would split the normal ABA/UCI National, pushing it out to a Friday/Sunday schedule, while the American’s would race for the USAC title of best in the country on Saturdays special race.
What was unique was watching the Juniors, as well as the Elite Men and Women racing on Chula Vista’s conventional race track on Friday and Sunday with the Olympic Training Centers monster Supercross BMX track just a stones throw away. Regardless, the small track on the OTC grounds is still fantastic by any National standards and the racing was just as spectacular.
With fresh legs, returning fro injury, Alise Post didn’t waste any time reminding everyone why she is considered one of the best in the world. Not only did she walk away with easy wins on Friday and Saturday against the international Elites, she also walked with a USAC #1 plate on Saturday when she ruled the SX track against her fellow Americans. She’s on a mission, so you had better watch out, Alise is back.
When it came to the Elite men, there were quite a few contenders taking moto wins throughout the day, but when push came to shove it was the familiar face of Marc Willers, back out front and nudging his way into wins on both days. As close as the racing was, his consistency is nothing short of amazing as he continues to inch out the competition. On the Supercross track it was a completely different story when Corben Sharrah, fresh off his win in South Africa proved his skills during Saturdays race, taking the USAC Elite Mens #1 title and proving his strength as the USA’s top Olympic pick.
As the season grinds on, be sure to keep an eye out for all of these riders as the pressure intensifies in the chase for the ABA title, the SX title and world points really heats up.
