GLENDALE, Calif. (November 1, 2009)—PowerBar is pleased to announce an
open call for applications for the 2010 - 2011 PowerBar Team Elite(tm)
athlete sponsorship program. Individual and team sport athletes, coaches,
nutritionists, trainers and health and fitness influencers across all
disciplines and competitive levels are invited to visit
http://www.powerbar.com/applynow to submit their application. The company will
accept applications through December 11, 2009 and announce 2010-2011
PowerBar Team Elite members mid to late January 2010.

2010 will mark the twenty-third year for the company’s biennial athletic
sponsorship program, which identifies and partners with more than 5,000
PowerBar brand ambassadors each year across the U.S. who demonstrate and
communicate a passion and commitment to sport. Whether through personal
success in competition or in serving as a dynamic and positive athletic
influencer within their community, the PowerBar Team Elite program seeks
individuals who embody the PowerBar brand through athletic achievements and
exemplary sportsmanship.

The company helps PowerBar Team Elite athletes perform at their best by
supplying PowerBar nutritional energy food products as well as
PowerBar-branded gear and apparel for training and competition. In addition,
PowerBar Team Elite members are provided with tools to help promote
themselves and their sport within their communities. In exchange, these
athletes represent the spirit of PowerBar and work to educate the public
about sports nutrition and the nutritional benefits of the PowerBar
Performance System.

The current 2009 PowerBar Team Elite roster includes thousands of sponsored
athletes and instructors from more than twenty athletic disciplines,
including BMX, skateboarding, baseball, football, soccer, swimming, track
and field, cycling, triathlon, golf, surfing, skiing, snowboarding and
personal fitness training. Current team members include triathletes Tim
DeBoom, Samantha McGlone and Luke McKenzie, skater Ruben Najera, BMX biker
