TIPS & TRICKS: RESEARCHING A SWEET RIDE
Bookmark and Share

Q: Hey, what’s up over there at the BMX HQ? I’m Jed and you’ve heard of me before I’m sure. You published one of my questions about bunnyhop barspins. Well I have another question, at the end of the year, hopefully, I’m going to buy a We The People Justice from my local bike shop. My question is, what’s your opinion on the bike? To me it rode sweet, except my brother told me to do some research on it before I buy so I’m doing that.

A: Your brother is a wise man Jed, but you did take the first smart step and that would be test riding. Nothing against mail order, we use it all the time, but if you are shopping for a bike, it makes a lot of sense to get out there and ride one before you drop the cash. So you like the way the bike rides? Make a list of the bikes features you like and compare those to other bikes in the same price range to see if another company you might like equally as much has more to offer. Here are a few things we liked about this bike; Chromoly downtube and chainstays, a 25/9 gearing, WTP “El Barrio” grips, Eclat PC pedals, an integrated headtube, sealed Mid bottom bracket, WTP Pivotal seat and exclusive new Salt tires. About the only drawback we see to this bike is its 20.4” top tube length. This should be fine if your 5’10” or under, but if you are planning on being taller then that any time soon, you may want to look into a bike with at least a 20.75” top tube length for all around performance.
